Summary
Vietnam has a long coastline, a water surface area is 3 times the mainland, a favorable climate, and biodiversity for exploiting and farming fisheries. Because of that, our country ranked 3rd among the world’s fisheries exporters, with an export value of nearly USD 9 billion/per year and a CAGR of 5% (2017-2021). In terms of type, fisheries ranked 7th and accounted for 3% of the export value of Vietnam in 2021. In 2022, the total export value of fisheries is expected to achieve 10 billion USD with the two-digit increasing from all markets.
In 2023, the fisheries sector will have prospects from: 1) There is still much room for growth in the fisheries industry; 2) European Union–Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA)
