Morning call - Large-cap stocks lead the market


In regular trading on Tuesday, the Dow fell 1.04%, the S&P 500 dropped 1.02% and the Nasdaq Composite tumbled 1.65%. Investors now look ahead to Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell’s testimony before the congress on Wednesday and Thursday for clues on the monetary policy path.


VNINDEX closed at 1,269.98 (+8.57 points, +0.68%) with liquidity maintained at a level higher than the 20-session average. The market has 258 green tickers and 212 red tickers. Stock groups contributing to the market's increase include MSN, BID and MWG. On the contrary, the groups of stocks contributing to the market's decline were VCB, VHM and FPT. Foreign investors turned to net sellers with a total value of VND 102 billion.
