Morning call - The market is booming, steel stocks are leading

Summary

In regular trading on Tuesday, the Dow fell 0.25%, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite gained 0.17% and 0.37%, respectively. Meanwhile, the latest figures showed that durable goods orders in January contracted more than expected at 6.1%, marking the steepest decline since April 2020.

 

VNINDEX closed at 1,237.46 (+13.29 points, +1.09%) with liquidity maintained at a level higher than the 20-session average. The market has 380 green tickers and 98 red tickers. Stock groups contributing to the market's increase include HPG, VCB and VHM. On the contrary, the stock groups contributing to the market's decline were BID, VJC, SAB. Most sectors increased. Foreign investors were slight net buyers in today's session.
