Morning call - The mid-term upward momentum continues to be consolidated


On Wednesday, the Dow rose 0.4%, the S&P 500 gained 0.96% and the Nasdaq Composite jumped 1.3%. Nine out of the 11 S&P sectors finished higher, led by industrials, communication services and technology. Analysts suggested that despite pressure from inflation and higher rates, strong economic activity continued to power earnings.


VNINDEX closed at 1,198 (+10.05 points, +0.85%) with improved liquidity compared to the previous session, around the 20-session average. The market has 356 green tickers and 110 red tickers. Stock groups contributing to the market's increase include CTG, TCB and VHM. On the contrary, the stock groups contributing to the market's decline were MWG, VPI, and HVN. The market had a positive trading session before the Tet holidays with growth in most industries.
