Summary

In regular trading on Wednesday, the Dow fell 0.82%, the S&P 500 dropped 1.61% and the Nasdaq Composite tumbled 2.23%. The Fed kept interest rates steady as expected and Chair Powell said it will be appropriate to start cutting rates at some point this year although he doesn't think a March cut is likely.

VNINDEX closed at 1,164.3 (-15.34 points, -1.3%) with liquidity 1.5 times higher than the average of the past 30 sessions. The market had 101 green and 393 red stocks. The group of stocks that contributed to the market's rise was not significant. On the other hand, the group of stocks that contributed to the market's decline was VCB BID and CTG. Most industry groups rose, with the strongest being industrial goods and services, retail, and chemicals. Foreign investors continued to buy net.
