Global stocks are diverged. The yield on Britain’s 10-year Gilt retreated to 4.4% on Tuesday, after briefly approaching a fourteen-year high of 4.5% early in the session, as the Bank of England (BoE) intervened again in the bond market.

Domestic stocks dropped again, testing the psychological threshold of 1000 points. In the past, when volatile events affected the banking industry, the market dropped sharply but there was a period of bottoming and a strong recovery afterwards.
