[Morning call] - Technical Rebound
06/10/2026

Summary

The Nasdaq set a fresh record. US stock futures edged higher on Tuesday after the major averages began the week on a strong footing, with technology stocks rallying despite pressure from surging bond yields. Futures linked to the Dow, S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 were each up around 0.1%. In regular trading on Monday, the Nasdaq Composite climbed 1.05% to a fresh record high, while the S&P 500 and Dow advanced 0.66% and 0.18%, respectively. Megacap technology stocks led the gains, with Nvidia rising 2.1%, Tesla adding 2.2% and Microsoft gaining 1.5%. SpaceX also jumped more than 7% following reports that the company has proposed building a natural gas pipeline in Florida to support Starship launches from Cape Canaveral. Meanwhile, US 10- and 30-year Treasury yields climbed to their highest levels since 2002, keeping investors cautious. Elsewhere, oil prices fell on signs of increased supply from the Middle East, easing concerns over inflation and the prospect of higher interest rates.

Shorterm decrease. The VN-Index closed the October 5, 2026 session at 1,753.20 points (+0.89%), with mixed performance across sectors and total market liquidity reaching VND 15,105 billion. The Household & Personal Products sector led the gains (+0.18%), while the VN-Index rebounded strongly but has yet to reclaim the MA50 at 1,775–1,780. Foreign investors posted VND 282 billion in net selling, mainly concentrated in TCB, VHM, and PNJ. In contrast, HPG, DGW, and GMD saw relatively strong net buying.

Trading Strategy: Prioritize defensive stocks with low beta, strong cash flows, high dividend yields, and low leverage amid the high-interest-rate environment. Insurance and utilities could be considered. In the short term, the market may face further downside, so short-term traders should prioritize staying on the sidelines.

Current hodling portfolio: REE; Watchlist: TCH BVH, GAS; High risk stocks to avoid: PNJ NVL
