In regular trading on Wednesday, the Dow jumped 0.79% to another all-time closing high. The S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite also gained 0.47% and 0.28%, respectively. Investors now await earnings from Netflix, Blackstone and Intuitive Surgical, among others, as well as the latest weekly jobless claims, retail sales and industrial production data.

The VNINDEX closed at 1,279.48 points, down 1.6 points (-0.12%) with lower trading volume compared to the 20-day average. The market saw 153 gainers and 209 decliners. Stocks contributing to the market's gains included MWG, VHM, and VNM, while SSB, GAS, and PLX contributed to the declines. Oil and gas and real estate were the two sectors that experienced the sharpest declines in the market. Foreign investors net sold over 330 billion dong.
