US stocks were mixed on Thursday, as the S&P 500 finished flat, the Nasdaq 100 edged lower by 0.1%, while the Dow Jones notched another close record, adding 243 points. Fresh data showed the US economy is holding firm despite the ongoing pressure from elevated Federal Reserve interest rates, limiting the effect of a 6.4% decline in shares of Nvidia.

VNINDEX closed at 1,281.47 (+0.03 points, +0.0%) with liquidity falling around the 20-session average. The market had 174 green stocks and 214 red stocks. The group of stocks contributing to the market's increase included VHM VCB BCM while BID GVR GAS contributed to the market's decrease. Industry groups increased and decreased intertwinedly within a narrow range. Foreign investors sold more than VND 117.1 billion
