19/04/2024

Summary

In regular trading on Thursday, the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite fell 0.22% and 0.52%, respectively, sliding for the fifth straight session and down 2.2% and 3.6%, respectively, so far this week. Meanwhile, the Dow inched up 0.06% but is also set to decline for the third straight week. Those losses came as investors scaled back bets on Federal Reserve rate cuts and started entertaining the possibility of no reductions at all this year.

The stock groups contributing to the market's decline were BID, CTG, and GVR. On the other hand, the stock groups contributing to the market's increase were LPB, MSN, and GMD. Foreigners net sold heavily at VND 987 billion.
