Morning call - Foreign investors net sell a record amount

Summary

In regular trading on Wednesday, the Dow rose 1.22%, the S&P 500 gained 0.86% and the Nasdaq Composite climbed 0.51%. Investors now look ahead to the latest US PCE price index report on Friday, which is the Federal Reserve’s preferred inflation gauge. Weekly jobless claims, gross domestic product and consumer sentiment data are also slated for Thursday.

 

 

VNINDEX closed at 1,283.09 (+0.88 points, +0.07%) with low liquidity. The market had 244 green stocks and 209 red stocks. The stocks that contributed to the market's increase were MWG MSN CTG. On the other hand, the stocks that contributed to the market's decline were BID VCB GVR. Most sectors rose, with the telecommunications and retail sectors rising the most. Foreigners continued to net sell a record nearly 2,000 billion VND, of which MSN accounted for half.
