Morning call - The stock market is having a party

In regular trading on Wednesday, the Dow rose 0.1%, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite fell 0.19% and 0.54%, respectively. Investors were awaiting more data later in the week, including PPI and retail sales figures, to gauge the potential timing of interest rate cuts by the Federal Reserve. Expectations for a 25-basis-point reduction in the fed funds rate in June remained unchanged, despite February's higher-than-expected inflation.

On the other hand, the stocks that contributed to the market's decline were VJC and SBT. Most sectors increased strongly, with the media sector recording a record increase of 7%, followed by the financial services sector with an increase of 4.25%.
