In regular trading on Friday, the Dow rose 0.12%, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite lost 0.5% and 1.23%, respectively. Investors also await the latest commentary from Federal Reserve officials, as well as a slew of economic data including retail sales, building permits and industrial production figures.

VNINDEX closed 1,154.6 (+3.12 points, +0.27%) with liquidity at the same level as the previous session. Foreign investors and proprietary trading return to net-selling. The increase was led by VCB, VJC and GVR, on the other hand, VHC VIC decreased sharply. The industry group with strong growth includes telecommunications.
