In regular trading on Monday, the Dow lost 0.11%, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite gained 0.69% and 1.56%, respectively. Investors now look ahead to Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell’s address at the central bank annual symposium at Jackson Hole, Wyoming on Friday for further clues on the rates path.

The market closed at 1,179 (+1.77 points, +0.15%) with stable liquidity. After a sharp decline in the previous Friday's session, VNINDEX experienced a slight recovery. Leading stock groups included BID, CTG, GAS; on the contrary, VIC and VHM continued to decrease, although the downward momentum eased.
