The Dow Jones index closed higher by 176 points (0.5%) on Friday, with the S&P 500 and Nasdaq rising 1% and 1.9% respectively as investors considered a series of economic data and latest business results. Specifically, the core PCE price index in the US, which excludes food and energy, increased by 0.2% from the previous month in June 2023, down from a 0.3% increase in the previous month and in line with market expectations. Additionally, recent GDP data shows the economy's recovery potential, fueling hopes that the Fed is nearing the end of its tightening campaign.

The VNINDEX closed at 1,207.67 (+0.86%) with a significant increase in trading volume compared to the 20-day average, and the upward momentum spread across most industry sectors, with the financial services sector experiencing the largest gains. In the VN30 index, there were only 4 declining stocks, indicating a strong consensus in the market.
